Ask Drew & Lacey: Questions from new homesteaders

Oct 20, 2021

“The greatest fine art of the future will be the making of a comfortable living from a small piece of land.” – Abraham Lincoln

What is a homesteader?
After spending a few days with about 5,000 homesteaders it's had me really trying to define what a homesteader is.

Bart and Erica had the question too. Can they be called homesteaders if they are just getting started?

My thought is that a homesteader is anyone that wants better food, better health, a better way of life. Then takes action on those wants and starts making them come true.

You don't have to have 10 acres and a cow to be a homesteader in my book.

You can grow your own food on your patio

You can shop local from farmers

The Schoolhouse Life is about learning how to do better, doing better, and teaching others how to do the same.

Take a listen to this week's episode as we dive into some homesteading starter questions.

How to grow fruit trees without bugs, how to grow good soil and more!
