We believe there is a cycle of health that starts in the roots, through our food & ends with using those energies for creative good. The Field, Food, & Folk Initiative focuses on educating, supporting & encouraging growers, eaters & makers--in no particular order.
One influences the other, and the other.
Our growers are in the fields & forests. Our eaters are in their kitchens, demanding a better world by settling only for the best through the primitive act of nourishment. Our makers are all of us--developing skills passed down from ancestors--they tie us to our heritage & fuel our futures with meaning &
We believe farming is an act of holiness : against industry.
We believe eating is an act of sacred : against defiling temples.
We believe craft is an act of resistance : against commercialism.
We aim to give people a place to fortify these 3 as an act of
Strengthen Local Food Access
The food system is broken. We rely on imports and long hauls to get foods that are produced just down the road.
Industrial meats & faraway acres of monocultures leave us both under-nourished & reliant.
There is a better way. Hundreds of local small scale farmers & producers craft deeply nutrient dense foods that are fresh to order through the Comfoo Food Club.
Community Food systems are the way to know the food your eating--and to make eating a holy act.
Know your farmer, know your food. It can be a full time job! Thanks to the work of the Comfoo, the work has become easier for both the producers & the consumer. Comfoo verifies makers & growers are meeting growing & ingredient standards, while also finding & educating consumers on the benefits of local, raw & underprocessed foods.
Field
Support the Farmers
There is a wave of small-scale growers and producers hoping to maximize profitability & impact the land they steward for good for generations to come.
FFFi is committed to exploration & education of these motivated individuals.
Through Permaculture & Regenerative experience, FFFi is here to support those in the field--through consultation or on campus education opportunities, we aim to equip crop & animal growers with practical tools to improve their land, economics & futures.

Folk
Revive Folk Skills & Creativity
Emerging research shows that the act of creating something physical is good for the mind & the soul.
Humans were created as creators & in the age of technology we have drifted away from trades & skills in favor of mass market & scalability.
FFFi believes that folk skills are the key to disrupting the emotional destabalization of today. We aim to offer classes & opportunities for people to use their hands to develop a sense of capability & confidence as well as a connection with other makers.
Fiber arts, basket weaving, carpentry, welding, gardening, herbalism, candle making, sewing, whittling, carving, painting, pottery, blacksmithing, foraging, and more. FFFi aims to offer a variety of opportunities for makers of all ages taught by instructors of all backgrounds.
